From our kitchens.

This is my dad's recipe, always a favorite dinner while growing up.

* 2 two-pound round steaks
* 1/2 large onion
* 3 cloves garlic
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon oregano
* 1 teaspoon basil
* 2 teaspoon each pepper and salt (or more to taste)
* 1 heaping tablespoons beef bouillon
* 1 cup red wine
* 3 cups water

Trim the fat from the steaks and cut them into thin, thin slices. Saute the onions, garlic and meat and put in a slow cooker. Mix together other ingredients and pour over meat. Cook for about 4 hours (or on low all day), or until the meat is cooked through. Serve on long Italian rolls; makes 6-8 sandwiches.
