From Dalton McIntyre. (Letters to the Editor).

In your December issue Patrick Sheahan from Hamilton took issue with Msgr. Foy's article in the October issue, specifically about contraception. Msgr. Foy does not need me to come to his defence as evidenced by his reply; however, the fact that someone with Mr. Sheahan's apparent intelligence would not know that contraception is against God's law raises a further question: why?

At Mass we say "I confess to Almighty God and to you my brothers and sisters that I have sinned in my thoughts and my words, in what I have done and have failed to do....". I wonder if all the clergy who have failed to explain to their parishioners the Catholic position on contraception, abortion, euthanasia, and stem cell research remember to confess this when they receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
