Frobenius structure has become interesting to disciples of topology, physics, algebra and computer science in recent years, and here Kock adds fuel to the fire by expressing some not very well known mathematics with a lot of possibilities while expressing an impression of unity. Kock covers cobordisms and topological quantum field theories, Frobenius algebras, monoids and monoidal categories, under the theorem that 2D topological field theories are the same as commutative Forbenius algebras.
