Fringe of bad taste.

THE cast of one of Edinburgh's raunchiest shows were upstaged when a couple in the audience performed a steamy routine of their own.

The amorous pair had been given special on-stage seats to create more atmosphere at wacky musical Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens but ended up the main attraction as they started unzipping each others clothes.

Stewards were called at an interval following complaints from a tearful female member of the audience and the pair were ordered to cool-off.

One witness said: "They were going at it oblivious to the fact everyone was watching them. Everyone was gobsmacked."

The production, at the Pleasance Theatre, means some of the audience sit onstage to give the illusion they are in a bar and are served cocktails by the characters.
