Friends of park hope to blossom over time.

FRIENDS of Bute Park has celebrated its formation with the planting of a tree outside the nursery in Bute Park.

This beautiful tree, Stewartia monadelpha, has white flowers in the summer and the leaves change colour throughout the year.

Planting this tree, which we hope will stand here for many years, celebrates the formation of our organisation.

Our aim is to help to protect the amenity of the park and to make people more aware of this wonderful asset in the heart of the city.

We are always keen to welcome new members to work with us and we hope this tree will grow and flourish as we as a group do.

The Friends of Bute Park's first AGM is on Wednesday, May 2 at 6pm in the Education Centre in Bute Park. We hope anyone interested in our work will come along - all are welcome.
