Freudenberg Group releases 1991 sales.

A consolidated worldwide sales figure of 1.75 billion DM was achieved by the Freudenberg Group, Weinheim, Germany, the largest roll goods manufacturer in the world. This represents growth of 12.6% from last year's figure. Nonwovens growth at the company exceeded other businesses; nonwovens' percentage of the Group's sales rose to 39%.

Within Freudenberg, the Staple Fiber Nonwovens Division increased its sales by 10.8% to 940 million DM, with interlinings contributing heavily to the increase. The Spunweb Division increased its sales by 14.9%, with growth to 294 million DM. The increase is attributed to the full consolidation of Rhone Poulenc's facility as well as expanding sales from Freudenberg Far East production.

Finally, Freudenberg's Household Products Division increased sales to 516 million DM, an increase of 15.9%. Growth was noted mostly in Italy and Spain.
