hl e TTe p y Les Jamelles Pinot Gris 2018, PS11.99 and PS8.99 mix six at Majestic Another over-delivering wine in Badet Clement's flagship Les Jamelles range made by Laurent Delaunay. This Pinot Gris is produced on two distinctly different terroirs: the Cote de Thongue in the Herault region giving a fat, opulent quality to the wine, and a particularly unique terroir in the village of Mareillette in the Aude near where the winery is located. The vineyards are on a dried saltwater lake, which today has very permeable, light, sandy soil with salty mineral elements. In order to cultivate the land the area has to be desalinated three times a year using a flooding process, which combined with the light soil enables the grapes to retain a lovely freshness. Floral and fruity on the nose, with notes of roses, lychees, peaches, lemons and grapefruit mingling with a touch of white pepper and ginger. Smooth and fresh on the palate with notes of raspberry on the finish.
