Following Hyatt's purchase of the AmeriSuites chain, stays at participating AmeriSuites hotels now earn credit in the Hyatt Gold Passport program. To promote the new tie-up, travelers who join Gold Passport by July 31 will earn a 1,000-point bonus for their first AmeriSuites stay within three months of enrollment. The frequent stay program for customers of Baymont, Woodfield Suites and Budgetel hotels, Guest Ovations, has been merged with La Quinta's program, Returns. In addition to hotel stays, gift certificates and airline miles, the resulting program, Returns, features free stays at the more luxurious Wyndham hotel chain, which does not participate in the program's earning side. Air France Frequence Plus, Flying Blue

Beginning in June, the Air France Frequence Plus and KLM Flying Dutchman programs will be merged into a single program, called Flying Blue. Current members of the two programs will automatically become members of the new program and their miles will be transferred with no change in value. Alaska Mileage Plan

New cardholders now receive 2,500 Hilton HHonors bonus points for each of the first four stays at Hilton Family hotels, up to 10,000 points; five HHonors bonus points for eligible purchases at grocery stores, drugstores, gas stations, restaurants, the U.S. Postal Service, and for wireless phone bills; 500 HHonors bonus points for Hilton stays booked online at any Hilton Family hotel Web site and paid for with the card; and an upgrade to Gold VIP HHonors status for spending $20,000 or more on the card in a calendar year. Southwest Rapid Rewards

Effective April 1, Diners Club points are worth fewer Southwest Rapid Rewards credits and Priority Club Rewards points. Where 2,000 Diners points have been redeemable for one Rapid Rewards credit, it now takes 3,000 points. And instead of the 2,000 Priority Club points available for 2,500 Diners points, the new formula only awards 1,500 Priority Club points for 2,500 Diners points. Southwest Rapid Rewards

After an eight-year run, Southwest has terminated the online booking bonus for Rapid Rewards members. Without the bonus, program members will have to log eight roundtrips to earn a free ticket. And they will have to do it within 12 months, after which Rapid Rewards credits expire. May 12, 2005

Between April 12 and June 7, Starwood Preferred Guest members will earn 4,000 bonus Starpoints after three stays at U.S. and Canadian Four Points by Sheraton hotels. Limit: 12,000 bonus points for nine stays. Registration is required. May 12, 2005

United Mileage Plus

Expanding on a special benefit recently introduced for 1K and Premier Exec members of the Mileage Plus program, United is now offering selected hotel and car rental awards to its third (and largest, in terms of membership) elite tier, Premier members. With the change, all United elite members may now redeem miles for hotel stays at Marriott or Radisson, and for car rentals at Alamo, Avis, Hertz or National. Two-day car rental awards begin at 10,000 miles, and hotel awards begin at 15,000 miles per night. May 12, 2005

United Mileage Plus

Through September 15, Mileage Plus members will earn double miles for paid flights, or receive a discount on award flights, on United's San Francisco-Nagoya-Taipei flights. With the discount, awards are priced at 44,000 miles for a coach Saver award, 70,000 miles for a business Saver award, and 100,000 miles for a first Saver award.
