French Valeo to dispose of non-core Telma.


French car components maker Valeo (EPA:FR) announced on Friday its plans to offload its speed controller unit Telma, in line with its efforts to sell its non-core operations.

Telma, which produces electromagnetic retarders, will be acquired by the current management team

The unit includes headquarters and a plant in Saint Ouen l'Aumone, France, a joint venture facility in China and two distribution centres in the UK and USA. Telma has 195 employees and had sales of EUR39.4m (USD53.6m) in 2009.

The transaction is subject to consultation of the employee representatives.
