French Police Carry out Anti-Terror Operation in Northern Paris Suburb.

TEHRAN (FNA)- French police started anti-terrorist operation in the Paris suburb of Argenteuil, authorities said.

French Special police units are involved in the searches, and local news outlets wouated a justice official as saying that the operation is not connected to the recent Nice attacks, RT reported.

At least two searches have been carried out in the area, iTele reported, adding that they involved RAID special police units and the staff of General Directorate for Internal Security intelligence agency.

The operation is taking place near the Dassault mosque, according to French media, and a helicopter has reportedly been deployed in the area.

Argenteuil is a commune in the Northwestern suburbs of Paris, located 12km from the capital. It has a population of about 100,000 residents.
