French F&B exports to UAE increase 80% in 5 years.

Ten French-based companies exhibited their fine food products for the first time at the Speciality Food Festival 2013, including a seafood trader in light of Seafex 2013.

French Trade Commission Ubifrance in Dubai's head of the Agribusiness Department Sophia Salmi said: "Because France has a diverse gastronomy, this event is each time an opportunity for our partners for gourmet travels and discoveries".

Exports of French food & beverage products increased by 80% in five years in the United Arab Emirates. In 2012, it amounted around US $401.68 million (increase by 13% compared to 2011), while in 2007 it was $222.66 million.

In addition, France is also the third largest supplier of dairy products, with an increase in exports of over 48% in 2012 ($46.88 million).

The French exhibitors included: Biofood Touraine, French macaroons found in the most famous palaces and hotels of Paris; Cafes Henri, coffee roaster and retailer; Fruidoraix, a fourth generation family owned company founded in Provence in 1880 offering the famous Calisson d'Aix en Provence and a full range of designer sweets and nougats; Like Dat, juice from natural extracts of date.; Maffren, producer of Calissons, nougats, marzipan and caramels; Memmi Boutargue, mullet roe, salted and dried; Mericq, French seafood trader; Monbaba, producer of chocolate drinks and chocolate accompaniment products for food service market; Pep ABCD/Karea, chilled and frozen egg products; and Sur Le Sentier des Bergers.

The French Pavilion can be found from 17th to 19th November 2013 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hall 5 - Stand E35 to E39 and F35 to F39.
