Free support for writers at library course.

A free Writers' Lab will be held at Shrewsbury Library - and sessions are open to all. The series is on June 4, from 5.30pm-6.30pm. It is co-led by best-selling authors in the fiction and non-fiction fields.

Stephen Palmer has had 15 books published in the fantasy, steampunk and science fiction fields and lends his experience and unrivalled insider knowledge of everything from idea to finished book. The course is co-led by Joe Shooman, library assistant at Shrewsbury. He has also written eight non-fiction books that have been published in countries from Brazil to Bulgaria, including the best-selling biography of Iron Maiden singer, Bruce Dickinson. "We are excited to have the opportunity to bring together writers of the area," he said. "And interest has been huge. We've got so many diverse approaches and voices, from kids' book authors to people who have excelled in self-publishing."

"It is going to be a real crucible of ideas, and we are ready to get the alchemy up and bubbling. No matter what stage of their career writers may be at, all are welcome."
