United We Fall

Cert 15 ***

THIS comedy about stupid, arrogant football stars is far funnier and more clever than it deserves.

Atlantis star Jack Donelly plays Manchester United striker Olly, who invites a group of team-mates for a get-together at his flash mansion.

They start talking about the three games that stood between them and the treble - the premiership, the FA Cup and the Champions League.

Festering professional and sexual rivalries appear and we learn from their different points of view what really happened in those three games.

There are Wags, bungs, brawls, banter, branding and even a tattooed baby.

With everyone blissfully unaware of their own ridiculousness, it's acutely observed, well acted and hilarious.

But if you don't know who Gary Neville is then the more subtle moments will whistle past you faster than a David Beckham free kick.
