Tails of the Painted Cats (TOPC) is in its fifth consecutive year of raising funds for the shelter's homeless cats and community outreach programs. Auction of the painted cats occurs at the Gala Dinner & Auction on October 10, 2015, at Pinehurst Country Club. Joining us this year as Master of Ceremonies is 9News Reporter Steve Staeger. Former Mayor of Cherry Hills Village, Doug Tisdale, returns as the TOPC auctioneer. Renowned Colorado plein-air and studio landscape artist, Cheryl St. John, served as jurist for this year's Tails of the Painted Cats.
Artists and sponsors were finalized for the 2015 event in March, with the finished works debuting for public viewing at the Lakewood Arts Council Gallery in June, followed by Evergreen's Main Street Gallery in August. After Festival of Felines, the painted cats move to the Art of Life Gallery in the Arts District on Santa Fe, September 4 - 29.
Tails of the Painted Cats 2015 features 23 one-of-a-kind fiberglass cats, expertly painted by accomplished local artists. As in past years, all but one cat will be available for auction - both online and at the gala - with a special, featured cat that can be purchased by raffle only. This year's raffle cat, Dale Cat-Huly, was created by artist Carla Pawlewicz.
