Free 'Resident Evil 7' DLC Delayed.
"Resident Evil 7" is going to have a free DLC entitled "Not A Hero" and it is scheduled for release this spring. Unfortunately, Capcom has just announced that the upcoming expansion is going to be delayed.
"Resident Evil 7" director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masachika Kawata announced the delayed release of the "Not A Hero" DLC in a video published on (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0It01eYQqBM) YouTube . "We were working very hard to get the DLC ready in time for the spring release, and we got close to completing the game content," Nakanishi and Kawata explained. "However, in light of the incredible reception to the release of 'Resident Evil 7,' we concluded that this DLC was not good enough to meet those high expectations."
Nakanishi then explained that their aim was to deliver a DLC that would match the quality of the main game. He said that they need more time to develop the expansion to achieve that goal. The producer also reassured fans that the "Not A Hero" DLC will still be released for free.
"Resident Evil 7" executive producer Jun Takeuchi also took the time to address fans about the delay and further explained Nakanishi and Kawata's statements. He revealed that they are currently working on another DLC, but didn't give out details as to what it might be, nor did he say it was also going to be released for free, as pointed out by (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-04-25-resident-evil-7s-free-dlc-expansion-delayed) Eurogamer.
"We are also working on a further piece of DLC at the moment and we wish to deliver both of these to you only once we are confident that they are polished and up to the standard you expect from 'Resident Evil 7,'" Takeuchi said.
Unfortunately, the developers didn't provide a new release date for the "Not A Hero" DLC. The upcoming expansion sees the return of longtime "Resident Evil" protagonist Chris Redfield and will act as an epilogue to the "Resident Evil 7" main campaign.
