Franklin Adhesives gains hot melt technology.

Columbus, OH-based Franklin Adhesives announced it has acquired acrylic hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives along with technology and manufacturing assets from SI Group, Inc., based in Schenectady, NY. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Franklin Adhesives previously marketed and distributed this line of adhesive products, called Acrynax, since 2004. Acrynax 100% solid acrylic hot melts are used in wound care, medical products and personal care industries.

The company said this acquisition especially would help meet the demands of its medical and personal care product customers.
