Frankfurt Airport sees new record volumes.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Frankfurt Airport in Germany has reported that for the first six months of 2007 it recorded new record volumes.

The airport said this applies for passenger count, cargo volume, aircraft movements and maximum take-off weights (MTOWs).

Figures reportedly show that, contrary to expectations, more passengers frequented Frankfurt Airport in June than in the same period a year ago, despite the Soccer World Cup Tournament being held at this time last year.

A total of 4,831,305 passengers were recorded at Frankfurt Airport in June, which is 0.1% more than the count in the previous record year of 2006. It is also the highest passenger count for the month of June in the history of the airport.

For the first six months of the year the airport handled 25,695,723 passengers and the passenger count at Frankfurt Airport was up 2.5% compared to the same period last year.
