Frank J. Borges, 84.

WORCESTER Frank J. Borges, 84, of Worcester, MA and formerly Florham Park, NJ, died Tues. May 5th at home.

He leaves his wife of 56 years, Virginia C. Borges; his son, Larry Borges and wife Susan of Winchester, MA; his son, Gene Borges of Ferndale, WA; his daughter, Martha Waite and husband Doug of Holden, MA; his daughter, Virginia Borges and husband Andre of Denver, CO; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His beloved daughter, Lillian Borges died in 1979.

Born in Hollis, Long Island, Frank had a distinguished military career which included the American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II victory Medal, and the EAME Campaign Medal. He led a Battalion of combat engineers on D-Day, landing on Omaha Beach, and post war was discharged honorably. Home from battle, via the G.I. Bill, Frank was the first person in his family to graduate from college, completing his studies at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY. His professional career spanned 35 successful years all of which were spent with Colgate Palmolive. In retirement, Frank most enjoyed time spent with his family, reading, a good steak and many laughs.

Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers or gifts please send donations to the Greater Worcester Habitat for Humanity located at 111 Park Ave. Worcester, MA 01609.
