France : NOx FROM BOILERS.

Project status:Accepted

Project Funding: 87000 EURO

General information: A European standard method is being developed for measuring the NOx emission from domestic boilers. The standard would in principle require that the ambient temperature and humidity (possibly even pressure) are fixed. As this is in practice not feasible (for economic reasons), a model will be included to convert the NOx emission measured at given ambient conditions to the standard conditions by calculation. This model requires a data base of measurements on the same boilers under different ambient conditions. As the available empirical data were far insufficient, a systematic study was undertaken in two laboratories where the temperature and humidity can be varied in a fairly wide range.
