France: Turtle Valley last in Listed event.

THE Simon Dow-trained Turtle Valley finished last in the falsely run Listed Prix Michel Houyvet at Deauville yesterday, writes Desmond Stoneham.

The race went to Colour Scheme, who showed the best finishing speed to defeat Amilynx, with Casamasa back in third.

Paul Doe was always well placed on Turtle Valley, who led two out but was outpaced in the final furlong, eventually finishing around four lengths back in fifth position.

Dow commented: "At least we're taking back Ff12,000 (around pounds 1240) for finishing in fifth."

Ian Williams' French recruit Hors La Loi finished fourth to Landlocked in the 10-furlong Prix de l'Eure on the same Deauville card.

Hors La Loi (not to be confused with the Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner of the same name) was beaten over three lengths.
