Foxconn hearing in Wheeling:

U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider announced Monday that the House Small Business Committee will host a field hearing in Wheeling about the Foxconn development in Wisconsin and its effects on flooding downstream. The field hearing, titled "Flooded Out: Vanishing Environmental Reviews and the SBA's Disaster Loan Program," is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Wheeling's village hall, 2 Community Blvd. The hearing is open to the public. Music in Town Square:

Four free outdoor concerts remain in the Schaumburg Township District Library's summer series in Town Square at the corner of Schaumburg and Roselle roads. Second Hand Soul Band will perform from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Monday, July 22. The seven-piece band will play Motown, soul and rock, with a rain date of Tuesday, July 23. Grammy nominee and family musician Justin Roberts will perform from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 24. Fans of Johnny Cash and June Carter will enjoy the country band June's Got the Cash from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Monday, July 29. The rain date is Tuesday, July 30. Classical Blast will conclude the series, melding classical music into classic rock hits from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, with a rain date of Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Lake Barrington concert:

Lake Barrington will host its first Concert in the Park on Thursday at Freier Farm. The free event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the village-owned property at 23585 N. Kelsey Road. Village officials encourage visitors to bring picnic baskets, blankets and chairs for the blues and rock music of Kevin Purcell and the Nightburners.
