Four involved in Gojra riots arrested.

FAISALABAD, September 08, 2009 (Balochistan Times): The Faisalabad police have arrested four masked men involved in Gojra riots. According to a private TV channel, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad, Ahmad Raza Tahir disclosed this in a press conference here on Tuesday. RPO Faisalabad said that the arrested men identified as Abid Farooqi, Ijaz Goga, Khalid alias Khaldi and Shah G. He said that these terrorists were arrested from an area of Faisalabad and weapons and other explosive material were recovered from their possession. He said that the arrested men belonged to a religious banned outfit, adding the desecration of Holy Quran has not been proved in the investigation. It may be recalled that seven people were burnt alive and 18 others injured in Gojra last month after violence erupted in the town over the alleged desecration of the Holy Quran. More than 50 houses were set on fire and a place of worship belonging to a minority community was damaged by an angry mob.
