Four allege sex assault at party.

FOUR women were allegedly sexually assaulted and tortured at knifepoint after being lured back to an apartment for a "party".

Two of them claim they were raped and one of them said she was burnt with an iron and urinated on.

The women also claim they were made to strip and pose for photographs by three men, who locked them inside a bathroom with the lights off and ordered them out one at a time to be assaulted.

Three men are standing trial in connection with the alleged incident in Juffair last November.

The defendants include a Moroccan, 25, and Egyptian, 23, who have pleaded not guilty to charges of rape, theft and assault.

A third man, from South Africa, has pleaded not guilty to assault and sexual assault.

All three defendants worked as waiters at a restaurant in Juffair and are currently in police custody.

They lured four Thai women and a Thai man back to the apartment where the attacks allegedly took place, the High Criminal Court heard.

"We met them in a coffee shop in Juffair before they invited us to a party at their flat," a 31-year-old woman told prosecutors.

"I went along with three of my Thai female friends, while a male friend accompanied us.

"They locked the apartment door and blasted loud music, but when I asked where were the other people invited to the party I was ignored.

"He (the Moroccan) took me into a room and started beating me, so I started yelling and calling for help.

"I then left the room after his friend (the Egyptian) opened the door.

"He (the Moroccan) then took a medium-sized knife, threatened us not to make any noise and all three started beating us up."

She said the Moroccan took all four female victims into a room and forced them to strip naked while he took photos.

"He then made us go into a bathroom, sprayed us with water and turned the lights off before we were individually taken out into the living room," she said.

"The (Moroccan) defendant forced me to give him my credit cards and password details after he burnt me with an iron three times on my right thigh.

"He told me to give him BD400 and he would allow us to leave the apartment, but I told him I did not have any money.

"He then urinated on my head while his friend (from South Africa) performed oral sex on me."

She said the Moroccan then raped her and her 29-year-old friend.

"I was raped by him before he raped my friend too," she said.

"I was also forced to perform sexual acts with my friend while my other two friends were sexually assaulted.

"They then ordered food for us and made us dance naked."

However, the Moroccan's roommate - who was home at the time but is not accused of taking part - told the High Criminal Court yesterday that the women appeared to be "happy" at the apartment.

He also said he did not hear any screams for help.

"I saw my friends (the defendants) and my roommate come into the apartment at around 2am," he told the court through a translator yesterday.

"I then entered my room to sleep, but I heard loud music and knew they were having a party.

"My roommate, who I chill and work with, is a normal person and they (the defendants) were just having a good time with the women, who looked happy at the party.

"I left at 6am for work and everything seemed normal, but I did not see them (the defendants) or the women."

The trial was yesterday adjourned until May 5 to summon more defence witnesses.
