Foundstone Acquires NT OBJECTives Product Line; NT Security Tool Acquisition Adds to Foundstone's Computer Forensics Service.

Business Editors & Internet Writers

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 31, 2000

Foundstone Inc., the premier provider of security services and training, Tuesday announced the acquisition of NT OBJECTives product line.

This acquisition will enable Foundstone to incorporate the NT-based computer forensics tools into its growing Incident Response and forensics service offering.

"Cyber crime continues to escalate and there is a definite lack of critical tools in the marketplace. Recent attacks like the ones perpetrated against Microsoft (MSFT) demonstrate how vulnerable corporations, large or small, can be," said Kevin Mandia, Foundstone's director of computer forensics.

"The integration of these NT-based computer forensic tools will enable Foundstone's R&D department to further our capabilities for product and service offerings to fight cyber crime."

"Foundstone shares a vision with NT OBJECTives to bring the best variety of NT-based computer forensic products to the security tool marketplace," said JD Glaser, president of NT OBJECTives. Glaser is currently a senior software engineer for Foundstone's R&D department.

"The acquisition of NT OBJECTives product line will ultimately bring our customers the best incident response and computer forensic service offerings in the marketplace," said Stuart McClure, president and CTO of Foundstone.

"The popularity and success of NT OBJECTives security tools is proven by the fact that over 100,000 tools have been downloaded and deployed worldwide."

Foundstone offers a wide variety of security tools that are all available and downloadable from the Foundstone Web site at
