Foundries showcase capabilities for buyers & engineers.

Hoping to create another venue for catapulting foundry sales, the AFS Chicago Chapter sponsored METCAST '92, the first exposition of its kind for metalcasting buyers and design engineers.

Held September 21-22 at the Ramada O'Hare in Rosemont, Illinois, the free-admission show attracted 1011 attendees, who investigated the benefits of today and tomorrow's metalcasting processes.

Nearly 100 foundrymen throughout North America exhibited their castings and new capabilities. The show exposed buyers and designers to the options that now exist using metal castings. It also enabled designers and engineers to discuss their concerns with foundry officials, and some even brought blueprints and samples.

In addition, a series of free technical presentations by eight speakers focused on computerized engineering of castings, quality issues and specific applications.
