Foundation--highlights from the 59th annual convention.

Various representatives of NSA affiliated state organizations (ASOs) presented more than $17,000 in contributions to the NSA Scholarship Foundation during the general assembly meeting. The Oklahoma Society of Public Accountants and the Low Country Chapter of the Georgia Association of Public Accountants became the first ASOs to be inducted into the Foundation's new Circle of Support giving club. The Foundation wishes to recognize the following organizations for their generous support at the convention:

Accounting, Financial and Tax Professionals of New Jersey

Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation (leaf donation in honor of Wally and Shirley Lofgren)

Alaska Society of Independent Accountants

Arkansas Society of Public Accountants

Georgia Assoc. of Public Accountants, Low Country Chapter

Hawaii Association of Public Accountants

Idaho Association of Public Accountants

Independent Accountants Association of Illinois

Montana Society of Public Accountants

Nebraska Society of Independent Accountants

New Mexico Society of Public Accountants

Oklahoma Society of Public Accountants

Oregon Association of Independent Accountants

Texas Association of Financial and Tax Specialists

Wisconsin Association of Accountants

The Scholarship Walks, sponsored by Robert Half/Accountemps of Menlo Park, Calif., raised an additional $3,400 for the NSA Scholarship Program. At the action-packed live auction, bidders raised $8,000 for the Foundation. The NSA Idol Karaoke Contest, sponsored by Forrest T. Jones & Company, generated another $2,000 for the Foundation, and an additional $500 was donated from the proceeds of David Rollins' StudMuffin Golf Tournament. The Foundation extends its thanks and appreciation to all sponsors and participants in all these convention activities.
