Foundation proposes bylaw amendments.

In response to a suggestion by The Florida Bar Board of Governors, The Florida Bar Foundation has revised its proposed bylaw amendments permitting nonlawyer members of the Foundation. The revised amendment would increase the number of nonlawyer Foundation board members from two to up to four as follows:

2.1 Number. The affairs of the Foundation shall be managed by a board of directors consisting of eight (8) six (6) directors as set forth in Article 5 6.2(a) through Article 5.2(e) of the Articles of Incorporation as amended, no fewer than two or more than four directors as set forth in Article 5.2(f) of the Articles of Incorporation as amended, eighteen (18) directors as set forth in Articles 56.3 of the Articles of Incorporation as amended, and the duly elected officers, as set forth in Article 56.4 of the Articles of Incorporation as amended. Directors selected pursuant to Article 6.3 of the Articles of incorporation as amended who are members of The Florida Bar shall be members of the Foundation of their terms.

Foundation members wishing to comment on this proposed bylaw amendment should direct their comments to Jane Curran, Foundation executive director, 109 East Church St., Suite 405, Orlando 32801. Comments must be received by the Foundation no later than March 9.
