Forum to explore ways to improve education.


The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) will participate in the 2nd Saudi Convention and Exhibition Forum (SCEF) to be held in Riyadh from Nov. 9 to 11 in order to promote the level of quality of higher education in the Kingdom by encouraging scientific associations to reach advanced levels of quality and efficiency.

The Saudi Associations has planned the first professional, scientific and medical societies meet of the Kingdom, scheduled to take place on the sidelines of the 2nd SCEF in the capital next week.

An MoHE official here said Sunday that the working paper will focus on the efforts of the ministry in the development of scientific associations in Saudi universities where the ministry has prepared a comprehensive and developmental initiative dedicated to promoting their programs and activities.

"It will be a comprehensive attempt to enhance the quality of higher education in the Kingdom through encouraging scientific associations to raise the quality and efficiency of their varied activities and programs," a top official underlined.

Hamad bin Nasir Al-Mehrij, adviser and supervisor of the general administration for developmental programs in MoHE for educational affairs, said that the working paper had received a large number of suggestions for developmental projects and 42 such projects, provided by 21 associations, have been approved in advance, after being reviewed in accordance with strict quality standards.

He added that the selected projects include issues related to national resources development, financial sources, scientific communication and international cooperation programs such as support for the organization of scientific conferences in the field of the association's specialization.

Al-Mehrij also expressed his gratitude to the directors of the National Convention and Exhibition Program, praising their efforts and keenness to devote a special day for the scientific, professional and medical associations to highlight their efforts, services and activities to society which will greatly contribute to developing the conventions, seminars and scientific meetings sector in the Kingdom.
