Forty-year old land dispute resolved in Khyber Agency.
KHYBER AGENCY -- The 40year old disputed land issue was solved between two subtribes of Khugakhel of Shinwari Landikotal because of elders' constant endeavors and the land distribution process would kick off soon in forthcoming days.
Speaking at a news conference held on Sunday at Landikotal Press Club, elder and president of Awami National Party (ANP), Shah Hussain Shinwari, said that people had left their homeland and migrated to other areas owing to lack of residential area.
"The 40year old land dispute was resolved with help of elders, political administration and locals of Khugakhel tribe of Shinwari," he claimed.
The collective land would be soon distributed among local people and every person hailing from Khugakhel would get his part. Land would be soon distributed among local people. He explained the elders of Kokikhel tribe had solved the Torkham land dispute via Jirga in 1976 but it had left undecided the rest of collective land.
The land distribution process was started in August, 2014 after consultation with friends and local administration officials, he stated.
In September, 2014, the land demarcation process began and the locals greatly appreciated efforts being played by Jirga members, he mentioned.
A grand Jirga led by chief of Shinwari tribe, Shafiullah Shinwari was lauded by people. Around 23000, canal collective land demarcation process was completed till 30, September 2014 and first phase of land was to be distributed soon, he further said.
