Fortress and Rajant to provide new form of secure communication for emergency response situations.
Fortress Technologies and Rajant Corporation have announced that they have entered into an agreement to combine their wireless network security with a portable broadband network system. The new system has been designed to provide continuity and security of communications during crisis situations such as disaster response and military operations.
Security provided by Fortress is to be embedded in Rajant's BreadCrumb devices, which are mobile, battery-powered wireless LAN systems to produce a mobile, self-configuring, standards-based, self-healing wireless broadband network system, reported Unstrung.
According to Unstrung, the new device comes in the midst of calls from the Department of Homeland Security to improve inadequate and unreliable wireless communications systems which are critical in emergency response situations.
