Former rugby ace tackles Neets role.
He joins the bilingual company to assist it in targeting those young people at risk of becoming disengaged or not in employment, education or training (Neet) and help further expand the work of the company to West and North Wales.
Portal also provides training for teachers, individuals and organisations who work with young people. They've also been developing a qualification - Sweet (succeeding with employment, education and training) - to target those young people at risk of becoming disengaged or Neets.
Portal managing director Gwawr Booth said: "We're delighted that Jonathan has joined the Portal team as an ambassador.
"The team has grown at pace since the company was formed in 2010.
"In addition to the core team of staff and directors, we have more than 30 sector-leading practitioners who deliver training for Portal in a variety of areas.
"Jonathan will be working with the team on developing Sweet, which is currently being delivered to over 30 schools, pupil referral units and alternative curriculum providers across Wales and England. In addition to sharing his insight with learners, Jonathan will be helping Portal to further expand into provision into West, Mid and North Wales."
Mr Davies said: "I'm looking forward to my work with Portal in the important task in engaging those young people at risk of being disengaged with the education system.
"They're a Welsh company and work bilingually, and I'm impressed by their commitment to making a difference to young people's lives.
"Their passion about reducing the number of Neet young people in Wales, by making them understand the choices they have, also attracted me to the role."
Over the past 17 months the firm has expanded its staffing numbers from four to 18. Last year turnover doubled to PS350,000.
This year it is forecasting to generate revenues of PS740,000.
