Former rival Bernie Sanders endorses Hillary Clinton for president.

Washington, Shawwal 08, 1437, July 13, 2016, SPA -- Bernie Sanders endorses former rival Hillary Clinton for US president, putting aside a long, bitter Democratic Party primary challenge against the former secretary of state, according to dpa. "She will be the Democratic nominee for president," Sanders says in acknowledging that he will fall short of Clinton in the number of delegates needed to secure the party's nomination at its convention this month. "And I intend to do everything I can to make certain she will be the next president of the United States." Sanders said. --SPA 00:21 LOCAL TIME 21:21 GMT
