Global Banking News - 21 October 2016

As investigations against Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) for opening accounts without being authorised by customers are progressing, former bank employees said that it targeted vulnerable people such as the elderly, uneducated youngsters and students to open bank accounts.

While some former Wells Fargo employees explained how the bank duped people to open accounts that charged higher fees, some have taken to the streets asking people to quit the bank. Former employees said that Native Americans, Mexicans and even elderly people were targeted by bank executives who opened accounts for them so that his or her job would be safe.
