Former Petrobras executive joins Statoil ASA.

Norwegian state-owned oil and gas group Statoil ASA has reportedly recruited a former executive of Brazilian oil group Petrobras.

Jorge Camargo, the former head of international operations at Petrobras, will take on the vice presidency for the development of new business at Statoil, reported Reuters.

Commenting on his new role, Camargo said that Brazil was an important market in Statoil's strategy, and that the Norwegian company was interested in building alliances with other state-owned companies such as Petrobras.
