Former PM express concerns over deteriorating human rights situation in IOK.
MUZAFFARABAD -- Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbassi has expressed severe concerns over the swiftly deteriorating human rights situation in Indian Held Kashmir at the hands of Indian occupying forces and also denounced the recent Indian air strikes and continued violations on LOC.
He was talking to Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan in a meeting in Kashmir House Islamabad on Thursday. The AJK Information Minister Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas and Minister for Civil Defence Ahmed Raza Qadri were also present on the occasion.
Both the leaders exchanged views on the ongoing political and economic conditions of the country besides, the impact of 13th constitutional amendment act after its approval by the AJK Legislative Assembly with the historical coordination of ex Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and his cabinet.
The AJK premier on the occasion, termed Shahid Khaqan Abbassi as the most sincere political companion of Nawaz Sharif and thanked the ex-premier Shahid Khaqan for hitting the final constitutional blow in making possible the constitutional amendment.
Raja Farooq Haider Khan asserted that Khaqan put forward the Pakistan vision of his leader in this hour of trail and said that premier Khaqan broke the ice after 44 years while making approval of constitutional amendment possible which was the utmost demand of the people of Azad Kashmir.
The former prime minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan on the occasion, appreciated the AJK government for delivering its performance by launching and completing many development projects and strengthening PML-N in AJK in just two and half years tenure under the leadership of AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider and assured him continued support and coordination from his party at central level.
