Former Mike Tyson rival Francois Botha set for Dubai bout.

Dubai: South Africa's four-time heavyweight boxing world title challenger Francois Botha will take on Egypt's Hany Atiyo in the highlight of an eight-card event at Emirates Golf Club here on Thursday.

aACAyThe White Buffalo', 45, is famous for taking on Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko and Evander Holyfield -- who all beat him -- and brings a record of 63 fights with 48 wins, 28 by knockout, into his latest bout. Despite his experience, Botha is coming into this latest fight off the back of six consecutive defeats.

Atiyo, 30, aACAyThe Egyptian Hurricane', meanwhile, is also coming off the back of a loss, but boasts a record of 16 fights with 14 wins, 10 by knockout.

Botha won the IBF Heavyweight World Championship beating Germany's Axel Schulz in 1995, but later tested positive for steroids. The IBF stripped him of his title and changed the result of the fight to a no-contest. He went on to lose the next fight of his supposed world title defence with a 12th round technical knockout against the USA's Michael Moorer.

Botha attempted to win back a world title but suffered knockout defeats to Tyson, Lewis and Klitschko between 1999 and 2002. During this time, he drew with Shannon Briggs. His last big-name opponent was Holyfield in 2010.

Botha's latest fight on May 1, at a aACAyMay Day Mayhem' event, forms part of the Thursday Night Fights series organised by Lion Heart Boxing Promotions. Tickets are available from Virgin Megastore and range from Dh150 to Dh500.
