Forex reserves touch high of $17.44 bln.

KARACHI, February 18, 2011 (Balochistan Times): The foreign exchange reserves of the country increased by another dollars 133 million to dollars 17.44 billion, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced here on Thursday. The reserves, according to SBP as on Feb 12 were dollars 17,447.1 million, as compared to dollars 17,314.1 million on Feb 5. The break-up of statistics further showed that the foreign reserves held by the Central Bank stood at dollars 13,912.9 million and by other banks at dollars 3,534.2 million. Reserves increased due to remittances received from overseas Pakistanis, said an official of the Central Bank.
