Forest City Casting launched in Canada.

According to the London Free Press, London, Ontario, Canada, two long time members of the metalcasting industry set off their own casting company in February. Scott McRae and Mike Vandenboom established Forest City Casting Inc., London, Ontario, Canada.

The permanent mold operation casts aluminum and zinc components for several industries, from rain gauges to optometry equipment. Before launching the company, McRae and Vandenboom received an award from the London Small Business Center for the best-developed business concept.

As of press time, Forest City was pursuing numerous contracts that could possibly bring in more than $1.5 million a year.

"We hope to expand and grow," McRae said. "We have the room here to get bigger."
