Foreign Ministry Secretary General Receives Italian Counterpart.
Rome, May 26 (ONA)----Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al- Busaidi, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry today met with Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy, Elisabetta Belloni during his working visit to Rome.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues related to cooperation between the two countries within the context of the interests of the joint committee between the two friendly countries. They expressed satisfaction over the growth of bilateral trade and tourism relations.
In this context, the two sides expressed keenness to continue their efforts to enhance bilateral economic, cultural and scientific relations, as well as augment cooperation in infrastructure, logistic, energy, fisheries and education fields with special focus on promoting the role of SMEs.
On the political and security level, the two sides exchanged views on the regional and international issues and challenges of common interest, as well as the efforts made to solve them through dialogue and political means.
The Italian side hailed the constructive efforts made by the Sultanate to promote peace and security.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed bin Salim Ba Omar , the Sultanate's accredited Ambassador to Italy, a number of official at the Foreign Ministries in both countries.
