Foreign Ministry: No Bulgarian Injuries on Mediterranean Cruise.
The statement was made Friday by the spokesperson of Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry, Vesela Cherneva. Her comments come on the heels of information published a day earlier in the Spanish press that a Bulgarian woman was seriously injured in the incident.
Two people, a German and an Italian man died and 17 were injured as a giant 8-meter high rogue wave slammed into the Cypriot-owned ship off the north-east coast of Spain.
Cherneva said her information came from the Bulgarian Embassy in Madrid after they checked all three Barcelona hospitals where the injured were listed. The woman in question is actually a Slovenian citizen.
