Foreign: Sun King too hot in Derby.

SUN KING overcame the outside draw in a 14-runner field in style to win the Grade 2 Pennsylvania Derby on Monday at Philadelphia Park and state his case for the Breeders' Cup Classic, writes Dan Farley. The Nick Zito-trained runner, ridden by Rafael Bejarano, won by four and a half lengths from Southern Africa.

In the Grade 2 Del Mar Derby, Wisp O Will led all the way, setting a course record of 1min 45.85sec for the nine furlongs.

It was a third successive win in a Graded race for Wisp O Will, who was ridden by Garrett Gomez for trainer Vladimir Cerin.
