Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F), a United States-based automaker, is equipping its 2017 F-150 with Raptor's new V6, 10-speed auto transmission.
The model is to be powered by Ford's second-generation EcoBoost V6 engine. The engine has redesigned twin turbochargers, a lower-weight valve-train, standard start-stop tech, Ford's first dual-direct and port fuel-injection system, with injectors in the intake port and inside the cylinder.
Both the Raptor and EcoBoost V6 F-150 will also be equipped with the same 10-speed automatic gearbox. It will be Ford's first gearbox with no cast-iron components, offsetting the weight penalty from four extra gears.
