Ford Donates Hybrid SUVs to Help Limit National Park Pollution.

The National Park Foundation (NPF) recently announced that Ford Motor Company donated two Ford Escape Hybrid SUVs to the 26,000-acre Gateway National Recreation Area located in New York and New Jersey to help reduce the impact of park vehicles on the environment and the "visitor experience" while meeting the vehicle needs of rangers and officials.

According to NPF, the donation was made through Ford's relationship with America's national treasures as a "Proud Partner of America's National Parks."

"Ford Motor Company has been a tremendous partner of America's National Parks, helping develop innovative and environmentally sustainable transportation solutions," said NPF senior vice president Michael Bento. "The Escape Hybrid is another important contribution to sustainable transportation in the National Parks -- a vehicle that works in the demanding environment of a National Park and protects that environment at the same time."
