For Easter, Debar lamb was traditionally exported on the Italian but also on the Croatian market.

For Easter, Debar lamb was traditionally placed on the Italian and for the first time on the Croatian market. According to Skender Ame, Head of the "Dashi" association of ranchers this is a result of the high quality lamb meat.

--Ranchers in Debar and Centar Zupa municipalities had 20 thousand lambs. Over 80 percent were purchased by companies from Gostivar and Skopje operating in the same industry. The traditional export on the Italian market continues, and for the first time we exported on the Croatian market, said Ame.

He underlined that ranchers are dissatisfied with the low purchase price of 2 euro per kilogram of livestock unlike several years ago when the purchase price was around 3 euro. In the last three years, the purchase price continuously drops.

--We are supported by the state agricultural subsidies, which increased the number of ranchers and by that of livestock, because we have ideal conditions, comments Ame.
