Music store chain, Fopp, are to open their first dedicated bookstore in Cardiff, UK on 25 March 2004, in a trial which the company hopes will lead to more stores around the country.

Books have been responsible for GBP2.7m of Fopp's turnover, which has grown dramatically over the last decade in a crowded music sector.

Fopp's music stores currently carry books sold at GBP3 to GBP15, and are brought from individual publishers form the company's Bristol office. A spokesperson said the new store will carry new publications, themed ranges and classics, instead of a huge backlist, reports Publishing News.
