Footballer at centre of nightclub death probe.

A BRITISH footballer is a suspect in a probe into the death of a Danish air force crewman in a nightclub, police said.

Officers in Iceland arrested former Partick Thistle player Scott Ramsay, 29, in connection with the death at the weekend.

Police were called to the Traffic nightclub in Keflavik, near the capital Reykjavik, in the early hours of Saturday.

Superintendent Johannes Jensson, based at Keflavik police station, said police believed Ramsay, who was at the club with his girl friend and a group of friends, threw a single punch at air crew member Flemming Tolstrup, 33.

Ramsay, who plays for Icelandic first division team Keflavik, was arrested at his home in the town.
