Football: Sore point as Billy sees red.

STRANRAER.........2 QoS..........2

EIGHT minutes of madness by Stranraer skipper Billy MacDonald cost his team-mates a win bonus.

That was how long it took the bustling midfielder to collect two yellow cards for fouls, leaving Stranraer to play for the last 32 minutes with 10 men.

And Queens stole a point with a 79th-minute goal from John O'Neill - their first in the last six league derbies.

Stranraer boss Billy McLaren said: "Despite being well warned, despite having previous problems and despite having the extra responsibility of being captain we were still left with that kind of fight. It cost us two points and it could have cost us three."

Paddy Atkinson's corner kick was carried by the wind straight into the Stranraer goal for the sixth-minute opener.

Ian Harty levelled from the penalty spot in the 24th minute and George Shaw put the home side ahead 12 minutes later but O'Neill's late goal denied them full points.

Queen's boss John Connolly said: "Overall I thought we thoroughly deserved to get something out of the game."
