Football: Mowbray joy at Scott's call-up; EURO 2008: INTERNATIONAL SPECIAL.
HIBS boss Tony Mowbray last night welcomed Scott Brown's call up to Walter Smith's full international squad.
The Easter Road midfielder was drafted into the Scotland squad for the Euro 2008 qualifier against Lithuania in Kaunas tomorrow.
Brown, who featured for the Scotland Under-21s that were beaten 3-1 by France at Pittodrie on Friday, made his full debut in a friendly against the USA at Hampden in November.
Smith, after being hit with a series of call-offs, opted to call up Brown following his impressive performances at Hibs.
Mowbray said: "I have always said Scott's time would come at full international level sooner rather than later. I am pleased for him and hopefully he'll continue to progress and work hard."
Lee McCulloch, who missed the Faroes win with a knee injury, has returned to Wigan for treatment as has Reading's GraemeMurty (leg).
Celtic's Stephen McManus is out owing to a thigh injury while Lokomotiv Moscow striker Garry O'Connor, will sit on the sidelines after contracting a bug.
Mowbray was also delighted for another of his players, striker Abdessalam Benjelloun, who continued his impressive start to the season with the only goal of the game as Morocco's Olympic side beat Tunisia at the weekend.
He said: "I have got every faith in Abdessalam Benjelloun and he will do fine."
