Football: Laudrup in swipe at Vialli ploy.

BRIAN LAUDRUP yesterday reopened the wounds caused by Chelsea's squad rotation system just 24 hours before the opening game in their defence of the European Cup Winners' Cup.

The Danish star has made just one start for Chelsea this season and, after only five weeks at the club following his free transfer from Rangers, he has already made his feelings known to player-manager Gianluca Vialli.

Vialli, whose side entertain Helsingborgs at Stamford Bridge tonight, has the difficult task of keeping Gianfranco Zola, Pierluigi Casiraghi, Tore Andre Flo, himself and Laudrup happy.

Laudrup said: "I have met with Vialli and the other forwards, but he would not give guarantees to any of us. His message was that none of us can feel secure of starting a match.

"I didn't like the same system at AC Milan. You never find the rhythm. I need all the playing time I can get. I am fit, but I lack a bit in timing and only playing big matches will help me."
