Football: Holyhead Hotspur .......0 Beaumaris Town .........3.

GWYNEDD League newcomers Beaumaris Town enjoyed a morale-boosting win at Holyhead Hotspur, although the hosts used the friendly as the opportunity to check out 20 players.

Beaumaris took only 10 minutes to produce the opener from Richard Owen and, while Spurs competed as equals after that, the home side were pole-axed by two more goals towards the end.

David Flinn scored after 80 minutes and Les Davies six minutes later as Beaumaris, last season's Anglesey champions, indicated they intend to make a success of their promotion up the North Wales pyramid.

Holyhead, who have signed RAF Valley-based PE instructor Mike James as a central defender, have now fixed up another defender with similar credentials.

Dyfed Parry, who has a corresponding role at Holyhead High School, has played for rival Cymru Alliance club Llanfairpwll.
